"I recently purchased an 18-month-old filly. She walks straight and looks good, but when she tires her right hind foot turns to the inside and causes her to walk on the side of her foot. Is there anything that we can do to help her? Joann."
Top equine vet Jane Nixon of Nixon Equine replies: "Dear Joann, thank you for you question. My advice would be to reduce her turn out so she can rest more. If she's turning the foot when she's tired, it could buckle. I'd recommend you ask your vet to visit and advise you on nutrition too. Ask your vet to work with your farrier to discuss foot balance to support the limb. Best wishes."
