We have received lots of emails asking us to explain how to leg yield. Below are two examples of the questions we've received, and our video with Jenny Rudall to explain how to leg yield correctly.
The questions
"One of my riding teachers is teaching me how to leg yield on a horse that has never leg yielded in his life. We have managed it twice but he isn’t sure that he should cross his front legs. Can you tell me the correct aids for it in case I’m getting it wrong, and how to train him to cross his front legs. Thanks, Millie."
"My dressage teacher has taught me how to leg yield but I still don’t get how to do it. I managed it about twice, but I didn’t know what I did to get him to leg yield. Can you give me any simple advice how to do it. Thanks."
