Progress in the dressage department

Out of seven horses only Dinky Inky touched a pole at the S of E.

"Another busy few weeks have whizzed by with lots of competing, mostly with the young horses. The three horses that I have in to produce for Donal Barnwell have been going well, being placed every time out and becoming very confident at BE100 level.

The two I've done a bit more with (A Copper Beech and Red Curran) will be doing their first Novice at Pulborough in a couple of weeks and then we will be taking all three of them on a trip to Ireland to the Gorsebridge sales. This will be a new experience for me so something different to look forward to.

Girls on top form

The two new girls (Chequila & Quicklook) have been out and about as well, each having a couple more runs at BE100 level and both going well and winning prizes. Quicklook even won her section at South of England - only her second event!

They are both lovely horses and Quicklook especially has been making quite a name for herself with her very unusual markings. She is grey and covered in white spots and has been causing quite a stir. I am looking for a new owner for her and will possibly syndicate her so please do get in touch if you might be interested.

Stop the press

South of England was a busy weekend for us, with pretty much the whole yard going along to our local event. We had seven horses competing over the three days and turned out to be a successful weekend.

I was particularly pleased with all of them in the dressage - stop the press - and am thrilled because I finally feel like I'm making progress in this department. All seven horses were good dressage ponies with my Intermediates scoring in the 20’s and a superb score of 39 with Billy On Air in the CIC*.

All of the horses show jumped well, with Dinky Inky being the only one to role a pole, and they were all fab cross-country. Unfortunately The Perfect Storm mis-read a fence and went past it, but he didn’t realise he had done anything wrong and it was a real shame as we were very much en route to a win.

All in all a great weekend. Don't forget to watch my training videos if you need any help with your jumping."
