Geoff Billington

Geoff started riding at his local riding school at nine-years-old, and demonstrated great potential when he bought his first pony for £10 and sold it for £325.
With his great partner, It’s Otto, Geoff has been a key member of the British Show Jumping team on numerous occasions, including the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games.
He also boasts European and World Championship bronze medals plus numerous Grand Prix wins, including the British Grand Prix, Zurich and Berlin.
When It’s Otto retired, Geoff started competing a string of young horses whom he has brought up through the ranks with great success. His patience and dedication were recognised by the British Show Jumping Association following several high profile wins with his young string, and he was named BSJA Show Jumper of the Month in July 2007.
His good form continued, including winning the Hickstead Derby on Cassabachus (pictured) in 2007 and fulfilling a lifetime ambition.
The win saw him return to Britain's top team for the first time in eight years at the Royal International Show at Hickstead. Geoff is still a highly successful competitor, representing his country on the Nations Cup Team in 2008, the European Championships team in 2009 and winning at Grand Prix level.
In 2010, Geoff was picked to represent Team GB in Calgary with Rosinus and Uppercut and undertook a second Champions Tour with Oliver Townend, entertaining crowds with his own inimitable sense of humour!
