“Gundog success for two of Mullenscote’s lady clients has ticked lots of boxes. Firstly, Kat and Ena’s scurry wins at the Broadlands Country Fair is another feather in the cap for Girl Power; secondly, these ladies are not the most confident dog handlers but are extremely kind, gentle, patient and quietly determined. This allows us to add another feather to the cap for those amongst us who go about the world quietly. Thirdly, we are delighted to see that the gundog training assistance that we have been able to offer these guys is now paying dividends.
While I love technology and all of the toys associated with it, I am a little slow and tend to be slightly behind the rest of the world when it comes to using it. This week, one of our H&C viewers asked me for some gundog training advice using an email and some video that showed his young Labrador, Barley, in action. The problem was that Barley was not quite understanding how her handler Brian Chesser wanted her to deliver the dummy to him.
The video was great and I was able to clearly see exactly what was happening, following on from this visual assessment and once again using email and the H&C website, I was able to offer Brian some advice as to how he might encourage Barley to deliver to hand. Blow me, a week later a thank you email from Brian and a video of Barley delivering beautifully.
A gundog clinic all done over the worldwide web! Marvelous, it makes me feel all grown up. Do you think I now qualify to confidently call myself a techie?
I really recommend you have a look at Brian’s videos and the advice that we gave him by reading my expert Q&A Help! My Labrador spits her dummy out. Congratulations Brian, excellent training.”
