Vivaldi shines at the regionals

Freddie is back competing and winning

"Vivaldi (Freddie) and I had a very successful day at the Scottish Championships, we won! It was a good practice run through of the Championship test which we will have to do in a weeks time at the National Championships at Stoneleigh. Freddie is now starting to find his feet at medium... five months ago he was just starting work properly again after an injury and since then it has been about getting his strength and fitness back and also teaching him a whole new set of movements without pressurising him.

We head down on Monday to Gloucestershire to get some fine tuning from my trainer Carl Hester before the class on Thursday. It usually takes between seven and eight hours to get down there, so at the moment Freddie is having a fairly easy time so that his energy is up for the coming week.

So my hopes for the Nationals are... to do the best test we can and know we have done all we find easy in the test really well. I know he is still very green at Medium..the whole canter down the centre line to a halt at the beginning still leaves him confused! The main thing is to enjoy it!"
