"Yes, it's that time again - the summer game fairs and show season is well underway.

This weekend sees the East of England show at the East of England Showground, Peterborough. This is one of the greatest showcases of livestock and equestrian events on the summer calendar. The show has something for all the family with many different displays throughout. In the countryside arena, you will find me working with the Countryside Alliance’s Game to Eat Campaign doing three demonstrations a day on venison, pheasant and partridge. I will be trying to help people understand and appreciate game as a fantastic natural commodity. My wife Charlotte will also be there with her falconry display team doing two flying displays a day; don’t miss these as they are a sight to see.

Horses of all shapes and sizes will feature strongly throughout the show as always. Show jumping will be returning to the main arena this year, guaranteeing an action packed equestrian timetable for spectators in the grandstand. There will also be classes for all breeds of horses from Shires to Shetlands.

Vintage agricultural machinery, steam and classic cars will have a larger section this year and the demonstrations and parades by these magnificent machines will be a treat for all. There will also - as every year - be live music and dance on stage throughout the weekend, and Saturday night headliners will be singing sensations, the New Seekers.

There is plenty of opportunity for retail therapy, with over 400 retail stands to choose from, including lifestyle and fashion, a craft fair and the Food Hall. So don’t stay in this weekend - come visit us at the show."
