Keith is a dressage rider based at his own livery and training yard in Hertfordshire. His riding career began relatively late, at the age of 16 - due in no small part to his sister's equine obsessions - and since then there has been no looking back.
Starting out as a riding school helper in return for one lesson a week, Keith progressed to full time student at Suzanne's Riding School, studying for his BHS riding and teaching exams. Keith's formative years were spent under the tuition of Sue Payne - a Fellow of the British Horse Society, Chief Examiner and a stickler for attention to detail.
Having gained his BHS AI, Keith initially moved into managing and running part of the riding school, but was soon drawn to his first passion, Eventing. He then worked as a competition groom and work rider at an event yard to gain mileage and experience, and relished the opportunity to ride quality competition horses. The time soon came to branch out and open his own yard. He then bought his first compeition horse with dreams of one day going round Badminton.
This aspiration was rapidly quashed when long term friend Anna Ross-Davies was called in to help with the horse's flat work. Anna instantly refused to allow Keith to jump the horse, as she said it was going to be a wonderful dressage horse. The tide was changed and the format set for what is now an ever growing obsession in the production, training and competing of dressage horses.
Keith has been fortunate enough to have trained with many of the country's top dressage names, and is currently coached by Emile Faurie. Keith is now based at his own Wild Farm Dressage Training Centre in Hertfordshire and has a team of horses competing from Novice to Prix St George. He now trains combinations that have competed at Regional and National Championship Level and is especially involved in producing young horses for competition.
