Lucinda has a three-day event record that spans Britain’s junior and young rider teams to taking titles at Windsor and Blair two star events and Blenheim three star, often on more than one occasion. She finally tasted four star success with her diminutive mare, Headley Britannia. ‘Little Brit’, just 15.2hh, made history in becoming the first mare to win both the Badminton and Burghley four star titles, as well as the Hickstead Grand Prix.
At Badminton, the pair scored the only perfect ten of the competition for a flying change in the dressage phase, and Lucinda’s performance has been described as one of the most exemplary displays of cross-country riding of all time. Using embyo transfer, Headley Britannia had two foals in 2008, both by Jaguar Mail.
Born English, Lucinda changed her nationality in 2002 after marrying Clayton Fredericks, and now rides for Australia. The couple have a daughter, Ellie, and currently live near Devizes, Wiltshire.
Lucinda has bred many well known three and four star horses over the years, among them Springalong, Tina's Gold, Simply Red, Beacon Hill, Dalliance and Lovell Lass to name but a few. She was longlisted to compete in the dressage event of the Sydney Olympics with the advanced Azupa Gazelle.
She is the appointed team trainer to the Dutch three-day event team, and won the Rolex Kentucky four-star event in 2009 with Little Brit. In 2010, Lucinda won the CCI** Lignieres-en-Berry International with Nysa De Petra.
