VIP treatment at the Europeans

"Well, what a European Championship that was, the standard was out of this world and on this occasion I think four individual medals were needed rather than three, all of the top four performances in the Special and Freestyle were amazing - I have come back tired but very inspired!!

First of all many thanks to everyone for their kind comments and support, it really is very much appreciated! I was so pleased with my boy, he really tried for me. He was on great form, as so were all of the other team horses, and I think the preparation with Hartpury and Hickstead did him good to get him into peak fitness, he is now raring to go for the Nationals! The Arena at Windsor was lovely because it was big and impressive but at the same time welcoming and friendly, the horses did seem to relax really well in there. I was amazed at how the planes flying overhead from Heathrow Airport didn't bother them but there you go, something you think they will spook at they don't and other things you don't particularly think there will be a problem with, they notice!

Ed (Two Sox) was a little on his toes for the Grand Prix and very chilled for the Special. I always like it when he is very fresh but I can actually ride the most out of him when he is relaxed, it is just up to me to ride strong enough! He produced two clean tests apart from a little blip at the end of the one tempis in the Special which was a shame because they were really good quality! I was so thrilled to get into the Special and came close to riding the Music but only three members of each team can go through to the final ride off. He finished 29th in the Grand Prix and climbed up twelve places to finish 17th in the Special so I was very happy with that!

The team atmosphere was great and everything was really well organized, it was VIP treatment all the way, a bit of a shock returning back home! Just the Nationals coming up, the last in a long string of competitions this season. I think Two Sox is up for it plus Rockstar who will be doing the Medium."
