Phoebe started riding at a local riding school aged 12. Even though her parents came from a travelling background and were not horsey at all, but they bought Phoebe her first pony costing just £250 and, like most kids, she spent more time on the floor than on the pony.
Phoebe left school aged 13 and went to work for the event rider Tanya Kyle (nee Liddle), where she also helped break the racehorse yearlings for Toni Liddle. She then became involved with the Cambridgeshire Hunt Pony Club, where the chief instructor and regional JRN coordinator, Valerie Gingell, took young Phoebe under her wing.
Valerie originally asked her to help out with a sharp young horse and has gone on to be one of her long standing owners, giving her the ride on The Busker.
The Busker took Phoebe on to win a gold medal at the Young Riders Championships, as well as U25 Champion at Bramham CCI***. Phoebe has also worked in racing, riding both on the flat and over hurdles, but now works full time in eventing and hopes to have a long and successful career as a professional event rider.
