End of day two - what a day!

Robert and Lacroix en route to 2009 British Open victory

Robert is now tied on points with cousin Ellen

"Another great day but I am feeling exhausted! USA Today was superb in today’s 2nd leg of the Championship and we came third. Ellen took first with Ocolado which means we are now tied at the top of the leader board. I need to keep the pace up if I want to get my hands on the trophy again this year. Ellen and Ocolado are a great combination and had brilliant success at HOYS – winning three major titles. I will jump Casino tomorrow in the 3rd round then decide to who to jump in the final.

In between my classes today I took Rooney down to the Parelli Zone. He can be a bit nervous sometimes so my mate James Robert, who practices Parelli training methods, tried some “natural horsemanship” on him. I must say it does seem to have improved him and he seems better already although obviously nothing is fixed overnight! Very interesting to see this work in action.

I also enjoyed coaching one of the BS, BRC & PC teams today. I really got into the coaching – especially when the tips paid off and they went clear! My team, Rowallan, came second so the young riders were really chuffed. I was impressed with the level of riding, especially a particular rider, Sandy McLean. She had great guts and style – one to watch for the future. It was a great experience for me and the kids.

Looking forward to tomorrow…"
