Russ Evans with a Crucian Carp

Russ Evans is based at Bury Hill Fishery in Surrey, where he organises events, coaches and runs the tackle shop. Russ is a match angler and competes many different venues - he says it is good to have a bit of variety, and all venues fish completely different as the certain species stocking levels do differ and have to be tackled accordingly. When he's not match fishing, he tends to target a couple of species like the Crucian Carp, which is his favourite, and the Perch, which is a magnificent looking fish.

Russ says: "For those that have not fished Bury Hill in Surrey then you are missing out on a treat as the lakes hold all types of coarse fish and offer such a wide variety of fish catching tactics. I am available at the fishery five days a week where I manage the on site tackle shop and I am always on hand to offer the best possible advice and baits to use for a good day, it's important to me that the visiting anglers catch fish and have a good day so that they are keen to return and do it all over again, so please if you are unsure what baits and tactics are needed then please ask as I am only to happy to assist."

Russ also writes articles for Improve Yourself Coarse Fishing, Match Fishing, Pole Fishing, Anglers Mail, Angling Times and many more. He's currently making an angling DVD series called "The Obsessed Angler", and has appeared on Sky TV. Russ also has an angling radio show on Ridge Radio (www.ridgeradio.co.uk) which goes out live over the Internet worldwide - the show is on from 9pm to 11pm every Wednesday.

He is available for coaching and guiding lessons throughout the season at various venues, and offers 1 to 1 lessons, small groups and corporate days to his customers.
