Having always been involved with horses from a young age, Ruth has only ever wanted to be an event rider. Even having been known to say at the age of eight she was going to compete at Badminton, she achieved this goal only 10 years later. Ruth has an enviable string of horses ranging from three-year-olds to horses competing at the highest level.
Ruth has enjoyed many high profile wins, including becoming Young Rider National Champion in 1999 on Classic Wizard. She won her first four star at Luhmuhlen in 2007 on Two Thyme and has three British Open titles under her belt. First winning in 2004 on Two Thyme and then in 2008 on Mayhem III, defending her title in 2009 on Two Thyme, Two Thyme becoming the only horse to have won the Intermediate Championships (2002) and Open Championships and one of only three horses to have won the title twice. Ruth also finished fifth in the World Cup Final in Strzegom, Poland (2009) on Future Team horse P.C.Wilson. In 2010 Ruth has had some great results finishing Second at Blenheim on Carnaval Prince, British Intermediate Champion on Applejack, 19th at Badminton on Nick of Thyme and eighth at Pau on Two Thyme.
Ruth was reserve for the Beijing Olympics but had to withdraw due to an injury to Two Thyme. Not only is Ruth known for her prowess in the dressage phase of Eventing but she also competes in pure dressage having four National titles to her name and her top horse Shadowfax is on the Pathway programme for elite horses building up to the London Olympics in 2012.
