New Farriery website launched

The website will provide valuable information on farriers

A new website has today been launched to provide a searchable online database of UK farriers. Farriers Pages is a unique online resource, and the user-friendly site has been designed for the visitor to search for a farrier by name, location and/or qualification.

Farriers Pages is the second of two farriery websites managed by Claire Brown, married to farrier and H&C blogger Nigel Brown. She said: “In the past I have struggled to find a farrier – many of the farriers I called were already fully committed and for others I was too far out of their area. It can be a really difficult choice; how do we know one farrier is better than another? What do the different qualifications mean?”

Incorporating essential farriery information such as details of qualifications and training, the website also features a ‘Hoofcare Resource’ – an area dedicated to horse and hoof health care with articles written by leading equine industry figures.

“Our first website, Forge & Farrier, was launched in August 2007 and currently provides farriers from 62 different countries with an up to date information source including details of competitions, clinics and farriery events. Farriers Pages felt like the next natural step as we felt that we could do something to really help the horse owner.”

Endorsed by the National Association of Farriers Blacksmiths and Agricultural Engineers and the Worshipful Company of Farriers, Farriers Pages has been designed to be informative and to encourage greater communication between farriers and horse owners.
