BRC announces inspiring National Equine Forum line up

H&C is pleased to learn that this year sees the launch of the British Riding Clubs Equine Forum on Sunday 22 November, and it promises to be a day packed full of practical demonstrations, lectures and an opportunity for you to talk to the decision makers at BRC about issues that are important to you.

William and Pippa Funnell have agreed to provide a full afternoon's presentation at the inaugural Forum. William, three time winner of the Hickstead Derby with Cortaflex Mondriaan and wife Pippa, Rolex Grandslam winner in 2003 and multiple Olympic medallist, will be providing the afternoon lecture demonstration. This will incorporate the use of riding club members and their horses as guinea pigs.

Desi Dillingham will be opening the day’s proceedings and David Luck will provide his commentary skills throughout.

The morning will be filled with lots of helpful tips to get you started with Dressage to Music by Sara Green. Sara is a long standing member of Chobham Riding Club and well known on the British Dressage circuit. She has compiled music for Andrew Gould who was Prix St George and Intermediare 1 Freestyle Champion at the 2006 Winter Championships.

Gillian Higgins will also invite you to join her in the arena to watch Horses Inside Out. This will take place in the morning, as will a clipping demonstration and a farriery talk and shoeing in action

There will also be trade stands and public catering available to have refreshments with some of the BRC Committee who will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have surrounding past or approaching events, or rule changes.

The National Executive Committee will be on hand to chat to members about any issues or ideas they may have for the movement and this will be in an informal ‘drop in’ area.

The provisional timetable for the day is:
10am Welcome by Desi Dillingham
10.15am Dressage to Music demo with Sara Green
10.30am Wahl Clipping Demo in Therapy Centre
11.30am Horses Inside Out with Gillian Higgins
1pm Wahl Clipping Demo in the New Hartpury Arena
2pm - approx 4pm Desi Dillingham introduces the Funnells, followed by a Q and A.

Tickets for the event will be available to members priced at £10 each and for non-members at £12 each. If you are interested in bringing a club party then BRC will provide a 20 per cent discount for a club group booking of more than 15 members. Please make cheques payable to British Riding Clubs and send your booking form to: British Riding Clubs, BHS, Stoneleigh Deer Park, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire CV8 2XZ.
