The Championships are at Warwickshire College this month

The prestigious Pony Club Winter League Show Jumping and Dressage Championships 2010 are being held at Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell, on March 27th-28th.

The Championships will be the pinnacle of the Dengie Winter League, for around 200 Pony Club competitors, who have been taking part in qualifiers for both Show Jumping and Dressage at Novice and Open level, throughout the country. Riders taking part will have qualified at preliminary rounds, before going forward to compete at one of nineteen Area finals, in a bid to claim their ticket to the Championships.

The Dengie Winter League Show Jumping was first introduced in 1995 and has continued to go from strength to strength, with the introduction Open level Show Jumping in 2006, designed for Members wishing to tackle bigger fences. The Dengie Winter League Dressage was then introduced in 2007, and has proved equally as popular.

The Dengie Winter League Championships are a real display of up and coming talent: “Members come from far and wide to compete in this genuine grassroots Championship and both the Show Jumping and Dressage titles are highly coveted” said Cherry Michell, Chairman of The Pony Club. “What is really great to see, is those who come and compete in the Novice and then come through to qualify and compete in the Open the following year, showing their progression through correct training, which is what The Pony Club is all about."
