British competitors continued to shine in the third and final week of the Spanish Sunshine Tour, H&C is pleased to learn.

Capturing first and second in every owners' class, sister and brother team Maria and Michael Eilberg also enjoyed strong second and third placings in the Grand Prix and the Kur with Maria achieving a PB of 70.00 per cent on Two Sox in the Grand Prix and improving last week’s score in the Kur to 73.55 per cent.

Michael - who’s enjoying his GP debut on the sunshine tour - impressed on board the Bechtolsheimer’s 15-year-old Michellino gelding Monet, who is half brother to Laura’s Mistral Hojris. The combo scored 67.74 per cent in the GP and 71.40 per cent in the Kur for third in both classes. Between them, the Eilbergs racked up an impressive 11 wins, 13 seconds, three thirds, six fourths, one fifth, two sixths and one eighth.

“It’s been a really successful three weeks,” said Maria. “Michael and I have been fighting it out between us and Ed (Two Sox) has been brilliant throughout. Even though he finished second this week in the GP and the Freestyle he got the magic 70 per cent in the Grand Prix - finally! And he got an even more impressive 73 per cent in the Freestyle – a fantastic result.”

Not to be outdone, Charlotte Dujardin continued her perfect record in the Prix St Georges with Carl and Roly Luard's Valegro, besting 31 competitors and improving on their previous performances to win with an impressive 74.29 per cent. The pair also topped the field in the Intermediaire I Kur to Music on 75.15 per cent with Charlotte and Don Archie taking the FEI six year olds finals on a massive 79.80 per cent.

Representing Britain’s young riders was 19-year-old Emily Harris and Washington who topped the Young Riders individual test on 65.00 per cent with Brits claiming four of the top five spots. Emily went on to take second in the team test with Washington on 66.49 per cent and third with Don Diablo on 65.96 per cent.
