William Fox-Pitt has become only the second British rider to win the Rolex Kentucky three day event in the 30 year history of the event. He follows in the footsteps of Pippa Funnell, the only rider to have won the grand slam. Listen to our interview with William by clicking on the link to the right.
Riding Mrs Theresa Stopford Sackville's horse Cool Mountain, William finished on 42.8 points to finish 4.9 ahead of American Phillip Dutton.
While it was a great event for William, things did not go so well for his Team GBR team mate Oli Townend, who had a fall at Fence 20 on Ashdale Cruise Master. Although he was able to move and conscious, the rider was airlifted to hospital where minor injuries spelled an end to his Kentucky quest. Listen to our interview with Oli by clicking on the link to the right.
