National Shooting Week, which will run from Saturday 29 May to Sunday 6 June 2010, looks set to be a huge success, H&C is pleased to learn. Shooting schools and clubs across the nation will open their doors so the public can experience this exciting sport.
Shooting is one of the most inclusive Olympic and Paralympic sports, where gender, age and disability are no barriers to success. More than one million people regularly go shooting. This is the fourth National Shooting Week, a Government-backed initiative organised by the Countryside Alliance on behalf of the British Shooting Sports Council.
Organiser Robert Gray said: “National Shooting Week is a brilliant way of making shooting sports accessible. We’re hoping that people from all walks of life will try shooting for the first time during the week. Open to all, this event enables all the misconceptions about shooting to be put to one side and gives people the chance to understand that this is a sport that can be for everybody.”
