Police are appealing for information after the theft of Addington Manor's iconic lifesize bronze horse was butchered and stolen.
The Buckinghmashire equestrian centre say that the horse, who was located in the driveway, was stolen overnight.
“The horse is about 15hh and welcomes people to Addington,” the equestrian centre's Pippa Holt said. “But we came out this morning and it was gone. Someone had sawn through its legs, just leaving the hooves.”
The statue is by an unknown sculptor and has not been valued. Last year a bronze statue of a horse by sculptor Dame Elizabeth Frink valued at over £200,000 was stolen from the grounds of a house in Surrey.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “Investigations are ongoing.” Currently the police have no leads and confirmed that there have been no similar incidents in the area recently.
