Anky will no longer be available for selection on either of her Grand Prix horses for the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Kentucky later this year.
Anky has made the decision not to enter for the selection process after her top horse Salinero's injury to his withers is still not fully healed after two months.
Salinero's withers were injured after a trauma in his stable. He still needs at least another month of rest. To compete at the WEG, it would take another three months to be back in full training. Anky doesn't want to rush the healing process, so she has decided not to go to the WEG and give Salinero all the time he needs to recover.
Anky has also decided not to enter with the Gribaldi sired stallion I.P.S Painted Black. The stallion's results have been inconsistent over the last few months and he has had a small injury besides. Anky thinks the chance of finishing in the top five is very small, which would be her aim if she were to enter. She believes that her withdrawal will not reduce the chances of Dutch team success and that the other Dutch combinations have enough quality for a good result.
