Lock up your eventers! Top British rider Zara Phillips is on the look out for a horse to take her to the 2012 London Olympics.
Zara, 29, retired her top horse Toytown last year. In 2005 the pair triumphed in both the team and individual events at the Blenheim Petplan European Eventing Championships.
At the time, Zara expressed her wish to compete in the Olympic Games: "I want to have the chance to be as good as, or better, than my mother. I would love to compete at the Beijing Olympic Games and hopefully London. Toytown is sound now and if we can keep it that way, I would love the chance to do all the things I want to," Zara said.
Her mother was 26 when she represented Britain at 1976's Montreal Games, but did not win a medal, while Zara's father, Captain Phillips, won team Gold in the equestrian event at the Munich Olympics in 1972, so the British royal wants to bring more of the eventing fame in the family.
But Zara missed two Olympic Games due to Toytown's recurring leg problems. He has since been retired from eventing. Now, she is searching for a new ride in time for the London 2012.
"I'm massively lucky that I had my best horse of my life very early on. I had a lot of success with him and you only get that one horse in a lifetime," Zara said of the chestnut gelding.
"I'm really excited for 2012. It will be awesome to ride at home, but I just have to get there first."
Phillips's other top-level horse, Glenbuck, was also out of action for several months last year with a lung infection. She also has the open horse High Kingdom in her string.
