The Kennel Club has announced the selection of the Agility Team GB squad to compete at this year’s FCI World Agility Championships in Reiden, Bavaria, Germany, from 1-3 October 2010.

The team was chosen following a selection day at the ‘Agility for Britain’ show on Sunday 27 June 2010. This two-day Open Agility Show, run by Hinckley Dog Training Club, donated all monies raised - over £3,000 - to assist GB agility teams with preparations for international competitions.

Three qualifying rounds and one final round were run on European style courses, under FCI rules and regulations, and judged by Nic Jones with Toni Dawkins as contact points judge, themselves both former members of Agility Team GB.

The team was selected by Agility Team GB manager, Steve Croxford, as follows:

Small Dogs
Nicola Garrett; Ag.Ch Obay Truly Driven, Shetland Sheepdog (Team & Individual)
Dawn Weaver; Ag.Ch Piquant Painted Sunshine, Miniature Poodle (Team)
Dawn Weaver; Ag.Ch Tonring Just a Puzzle, Papillon (Team & Individual)

Medium Dogs
Bernadette Bay; Ag.Ch Obay Truly Balanced, Shetland Sheepdog (Team & Individual)
Sian Illingworth; Falconmoor Shadow Dancer, Border Collie (Team & Individual)
Denise Wilkinson; Meisterwerk Jexie Jangles, Border Collie (Individual)
Natasha Wise; Ag.Ch Raeanne’s Flipping Heck, Border Collie (Team & Individual)

Large Dogs
Anthony Clarke; Blazing Red of Rujaff, Border Collie (Team & Individual)
Greg Derrett; Nedlo Detox Sproglett, Border Collie (Individual)
Linda Hutchinson; Darleyfalls Dark Secret, Border Collie (Team & Individual)
David Munnings; Ag.Ch Gunran Misteree, Border Collie (Team & Individual)

Steve Croxford commented: “Although the overall number of entries to the qualifying event was disappointing this year, the quality of the dogs and handlers was very high. I am very pleased that once again we are taking a highly competitive team of dogs to the FCI Agility World Championships.”
