Tina Fletcher and her ride Hallo Sailor have withdrawn from the World Equestrian Games Showjumping Team.
Following a minor injury sustained during training, Hallo Sailor, who was due to compete under Tina Fletcher, has been withdrawn from the British showjumping team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
Reserve horse and rider combination Robert Smith and Talan, a horse Robert jointly owns with Diana and Pennie Cornish, will replace Tina in the team.
Robert joins Scott Brash riding Stanley Brash’s Intertoy Z; David McPherson riding his own Chamberlain Z and Michael Whitaker riding Beatrice Mertens GIG Amai II to complete the showjumping team.
“Although this is a minor injury we feel it is in the best interests of the horse not to travel to the World Equestrian Games,” commented showjumping Performance Manager Rob Hoekstra. “We are very disappointed for Tina and Lady Harris who owns Hallo Sailor. However, we are extremely fortunate that we have a world class rider in Robert Smith to bring into the team and Talan has shown excellent form on a recent trip to Calagry.”
The Games take place in Kentucky, USA from Saturday 25th September to Sunday 10th October with the showjumping competition taking place between Monday 4th October and Saturday 9th October 2010.
