The Brits showed top form again during the final weekend of the inaugural Vidauban 3* tour in South West France, 25-27 March, say British Dressage.
In the hotly contested grand prix for special, Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro reaffirmed last weekend’s success with a win on 74.766%, a full 5.043% ahead of the second placed competitors. The pair then went on to claim the grand prix special with 73.396%.
British riders dominated the top ten standings in both classes when Maria Eilberg and her WEG 2010 partner Two Sox strengthened their fifth place performance in the grand prix to take fourth in the grand prix special. Emile Faurie and the Michellino gelding Elmegardens Marquis took sixth in the grand prix and seventh place in the special.
In the freestyle classes, Carl Hester and the Florestan I gelding Fernandez romped away with the grand prix on 71.128% and dominated the kur with an incredible 77.10%. Michael Eilberg and his Father’s Latvian gelding Marakov's scores earned them sixth place in both classes.
Michael and Lynne Crowden’s Woodlander Farouche showed her consistency in the five-year-old final with yet another plus 90% score. Not one to rest on his laurels, Michael went on to enjoy intermediate I success with Farouche’s dam Woodlander Donroeschen with a score of 69.68%, steering her into first place.
