H&C was excited to hear that Mrs Rouse (Rubinstein x Donnerhall) gave birth to the first UK based foal by Totilas on 31 March and thrilled to hear who named him! The foal is described by his breeder as "a beautiful, big framed and strong, jet black colt."
Mrs Rouse is owned by dressage breeder Mitzi Stillebroer at Queens Orchard in Essex, who is over the moon with the foal, which will be registered Oldenburg. She says: "He shows an inquisitive, bold temperament, great movement with a very powerful canter for a foal only a couple of days old!"
Ms Stillebroer continues: "As my partner and I could not agree on a name for him, I asked Edward Gal and Nicole Werner to pick one from our shortlist. He was named “Te Amo” which is one of Edward’s favourite songs by Rihanna. "We have already had quite a number of enquiries both from the UK and abroad about Queens Orchard “Te Amo”, and are asking interested parties to outline their plans via email so we can decide on the best future of this very special colt." Mrs Rouse has to date given birth to eight colt foals and her previous successes include a 2004 black Fuerst Heinrich colt, sold at the Vechta elite auction to a Belgian competition rider who trains with Anky van Grunsven, and a 2006 Stedinger colt going through to the final rounds of the 2008 Oldenburg stallion licensing. Mrs Rouse will be inseminated later this month with the new Dutch young horse super sensation “Bretton Woods”.
