Louise Pavitt proved her competitiveness on the second day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, claiming the Land Rover open the day after heading the Walwyn novice championship.
Her partner this time was the Brendon Stud’s Unbelievable Darco, a horse who enjoys the atmosphere at the show.
“He always does well here,” said the Brendon Stud’s Shirley Light. “He just seems to love it here.”
Riding in super speedy style over the jump-off phase of today’s Castle Arena competition, Louise, whose winner yesterday was Lupicos, was obviously thrilled to claim a second win in front of the stunning Windsor Castle backdrop.
One of her rivals in the well-supported class was Jessica Springstein, daughter of the legendary rocker Bruce Springstein, who is at the show to support her.
Young rider Sam Hutton, who is on the World Class Development Programme, topped the grade A and B competition held earlier in the day in the Frogmore Arena in front of a big crowd enjoying the good weather and exciting competition.
He was riding Astral 57, with whom he has enjoyed recent international success.
Britain’s number one rider Guy Williams showed off one of his future stars, Djakarta, in the seven and eight-year-old championship and won the class after setting off to do so in the jump-off.
This was another class which was extremely popular with the crowds, with some beautiful young horses being put through their paces.
