A world-class field will be competing at this week’s Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials (8-11 September 2011), wiith a host of top British riders joined by competitors from Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
Only one nation from Blenheim will qualify for London 2012 so Japan and Australia (the two nations still to qualify) will have it all to play for to join Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand, USA, Germany, Belgium and France and Sweden at next year’s Olympics. For a peek at what the qualifying nations have to look forward to, check out some of our interviews from the test event at Greenwich Park:
The London 2012 team qualifier at Blenheim will run as part of the CCI3*competition, and with entries from Burghley winner William Fox-Pitt alongside the likes of Mark Todd and Zara Phillips, H&C thinks this will be a brilliant competition.
H&C are also delighted to learn that 300 amateur riders from across the country and as far afield as the Isle of Wight are set to descend on the Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials to compete in the various grassroots events running alongside the international classes. This year will be the fourth running of the Dodson & Horrell Riding and Pony Club Team Eventer Challenges, and both events were over-subscribed within 10 days of entries opening back in the spring.
H&C will be there to keep you up to date with all the action so keep an eye out for our team - who are always ready to pap you! - and don't forget to follow H&C on Twitter and Facebook.
