Olympia has been the setting for many a memorable Whitaker victory, and last night the great hall one again belonged to John Whitaker. The Yorkshire man stormed to victory in the H&M Ivy Stakes on his daughter's mare Dazzle II, taking home the E7,200 winner's cheque.
After nine riders made it through to the jump-off, the Swiss rider Pius Schwizer set an early precedence with a quick clear. Robert Smith was the next to jump a faultless round, netting what looked like an unbeatable time.
But it was not to be Robert's night and John stormed down to the last, with the crowd willing him on, to take the win.
We caught up with John after his win to find out more about the brilliant Dazzle II.
