Video: William Whitaker reveals why he's set up on his own

William Whitaker is part of a showjumping dynasty - he's the nephew of John and Michael Whitaker, and cousin to Robert, Louise and Ellen.

His father Ian is the only non-show jumping brother of the Whitaker family, but there is no doubt he has showjumping in his blood.

Stylish William out on his own

H&C caught up with William at Olympia to congratulate him on winning a style award and for finishing second in the prestigious Under 23 British National Championships.

We also find out what he has been up to over the past 12 months, after hearing reports that William had left the family fold and moved from his uncle Michael’s yard to set up on his own. 

Even for this talented young rider this was always going to be a huge step, so find out how he is coping with the change in our interview below:
