On TV: Travel the world on horseback in our new series 'Equitrekking'

By Jenny Rudall on 23rd-Dec-2011

H&C is delighted to announce the details of our new show Equitrekking. This is the first travel series to discover the world's spectacular destinations on horseback.

Experience the world from horseback

Beautifully shot over two seasons of 20 episodes, Equitrekking sees presenter Darley Newman provide adventure-hungry viewers with a fresh way to travel.

Combining her lifelong passion for horses, Darley - also an equestrian travel columnist for American magazines True West and Practical Horseman - ventures off the beaten path for a colourful look at some unique and breathtaking locales.

From the lush countryside of Ireland through to the rugged, scenic landscapes of Iceland, the series explores the people, lands and cultures whose histories are intertwined with horses. Whether it's watching the intricate dance of the enchanting Andalusian horses of Jerez, Spain or experiencing a ride through Vermont's country roads, Equitrekking allows viewers to experience travel from a whole new perspective.

Areas visited in the first season include: Vermont, The Carolinas, The Georgia Coast, Colorado, Wyoming, Spain, Coastal Ireland, Hawaii, Iceland, Virginia, California, the Irish Countryside and Maui.

Equitrekking premieres on Monday 2 January
