Whether you’re a dressage enthusiast or a newcomer to the sport, your help is needed in the final preparations for the Paralympic dressage team.
British Dressage (BD) is calling for supporters to attend Paralympic dressage selection events at Hickstead and Hartpury, to help generate a games-like atmosphere.
To encourage spectators, entry is free to both the British Para Dressage Championships at Hickstead (18-19 June) and the Festival of Dressage CDPI at Hartpury (4-8 July). It is hoped that if enough people attend the shows, the busy environment will help prepare both horses and riders for the unfamiliar sights and sounds on their big day at Greenwich in August.
Attendance isn’t simply about making up numbers, as both events promise to provide some superb dressage performances, from past medal winners and future stars. Already entered are nine-times Gold medalist Lee Pearson, Sophie Wells, Natasha Baker, Anne Dunham and Sophie Christiansen.
British Dressage Chief Executive Amanda Bond said: “This is a great chance to see top class dressage, particularly for those who have missed out on tickets for the Games. We really need dressage enthusiasts to support the team with this crucial preparation for the Paralympics. It really is a case of your country needs you!”
