Showjumper Nick Skelton has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in The Queen's Birthday honours list.
The 54-year-old has been riding at the top level for more than 30 years at the top of his sport.
Nick broke his neck in 2000 and retired from the sport, but later made a come back and enjoyed plenty of success with Arko and Russel.
Now with top horses Big Star and Carlo, Nick must be a certainty for Olympic selection. He dominated on the Florida circuit at the beginning of this year, and last summer helped Britain to win team and individual bronze at the FEI European Jumping Championships.
"I'm very honoured with the award and it feels magnificent to have been recognised in this way," Nick commented.
British Showjumping's Chairman Michael Mac added: "Nick is a superb rider and has been a top winner for many years and he thoroughly deserves the accolade. I know I don't just speak for myself but for everyone at British Showjumping when I say how pleased I am that he has been awarded in this way."
Congratulations from all at H&C.
