The British Equestrian Federation has announced the nominated entry list for the dressage squad for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Only horses and athletes on this list can be put forward to the British Olympic Association for selection. The entries are:
Henriette Andersen with Paula Potter’s Louis D’Or
Laura Bechtolsheimer with Dr Wilfried and Ursula Bechtolsheimer’s Andretti H and Mistral Hojris (also owned by Laura)
Hannah Biggs with her own Weltzin
Nikki Crisp with her own Pasoa
Richard Davison with the Countess of Derby’s Artemis
Charlotte Dujardin with Carl Hester and Roly Luard’s Valegro
Michael Eilberg with Julie Deverill’s Half Moon Delphi and Ferdi Eilberg’s Marakov
Emile Faurie with Joanne Vaughan’s Elmegardens Marquis
Judy Harvey with Richard Heley’s Fitzcerraldo
Carl Hester with Sasha Stewart’s and his own Uthopia
Emma Hindle with the Brookhouse Stud Ltd’s Diamond Hit
Gareth Hughes with Jane Brewin’s DV Stenkjers Nadonna
From this list of 12 riders, only four will be selected to compete for Team GB. This will be announced the week commencing 2 July and the remaining combinations will form the team’s reserve list.

Gareth Hughes told Horse & Country that it feels really great to be nominated. “I feel really proud,” he said. “I’ve only been riding Jane’s mare for 12 months, so to come through this early in her career is great.
“I know I won’t make the final four as there are three extremely strong combinations on the list, and then a couple behind that are very established. But it’s really nice to be in mix. It’s what you work for and it’s a great stepping stone for me.”
