Clayton Fredericks has announced that he is moving to America 'to expand the Team Fredericks business overseas'.
The plan is for him to move to the United States, to set up a yard and provide teaching and clincis, while also running a branch of the Southern Stars Saddlery business, which is run by Clayton and his brother Kelvin.
He will spend 'significant time in the US initially', according to a statement released by Team Fredericks, while Lucinda will stay in the United Kingdom to manage the team’s headquarters at Rosegarth in Wiltshire.
“I have been looking at opportunities to expand Team Fredericks for some time now, and several different options in America have been presented to me. I have spent a lot of time in America and have always felt really welcomed there, and the sheer size of the market means I would be foolish not to explore the possibilities," said Clayton.
Clayton will continue to compete at top level internationally and has plans to compete on the US eventing circuit.
Both Lucinda and Clayton represented Australia on the 2012 London Olympics team, which finished in sixth place.
