
Following their historic team gold medal at Greenwich this summer, the Olympic showjumpers had further reason to celebrate having picked up a number of awards.
The British Showjumping Awards Ball on Tuesday (2 October) saw the foursome of Nick Skelton, Scott Brash, Ben Maher and Peter Charles collect the Outstanding Achievement & Services to Showjumping award.
The owners of the Olympic horses, Lord and Lady Harris, Lord and Lady Kirkham, Tara Charles, Olga White, Emma and Mike Phillips, and Beverley Widdowson, were also included in the award, along with Chef d'equipe Rob Hoekstra and selector Di Lampard.
The team's Performance Director, Will Connell from the British Equestrian Federation, received an Outstanding Contribution & Services to Showjumping award.
Nick Skelton won the Rider's Rider of the Year and the Personality of the Year titles, plus he and Big Star were voted international combination of the year.
Ben Maher and the homebred Tripple X won the Breeders Award.
Best Pony Rider of the Year – Millie Allen from Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland
Best Rider Under 21 Years (On Horses) of the Year – Chloe Aston from Tring, Hertfordshire
Members Show Venue of the Year – Ingliston Country Club & Equestrian Centre
Members Annual Show of the Year – The British Jumping Derby Meeting, Hickstead
International Stairway League Winner – Phillip Miller & Caritiar Z
British Showjumping Coach of the Year – Michael Jones
