The eventer Laura Collett is in intensive care in hospital after suffering a fall on the cross-country at Tweseldown yesterday (8 July).
The 23-year-old was riding Tis A Beauty, a seven-year-old mare previously competed by Oliver Townend. The pair was taking part in the intermediate at the horse trials in Hampshire, when the horse reportedly had a rotational fall.
A statement released by Laura’s family read: “Following Laura's bad fall today Laura is now in ITU in hospital. She has been stabilised and we will know more over the next 24 hours....Thank you for your messages and we will keep you updated."
An update via Laura’s twitter feed, said that she had “woken up briefly and responded well to family”, she is now sleeping again and remains in a "stable condition".
Laura has come into the public eye recently after taking on the ex-racehorse Kauto Star, who she is training for a new career in dressage.
The pair made an appearance on the final day of the Barbury Horse Trials (7 July), to demonstrate his news skills.
