London 2012. Three disciplines, 200 horses and riders, 18 medals up for grabs. And 10 days of action from the most enthralling and anticipated event in the world - the Olympic Games.

The opening ceremony for the Games will be on 27 July, and the equestrian action kicks off the following day with the start of the eventing competition. The dressage will be run over the first two days, followed by the cross-country on Monday 30 July. The event will culminate in one showjumping round to decide the team medals, and a second showjumping round to determine the individual medallists.

The dressage will begin on 2 August with two days of team tests, with the riders all performing a Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special test. The individual medals will be decided following the completion of the Grand Prix Freestyle on Thursday 9 August.

Showjumping will conclude the equestrian events, with the saction kicking off on Saturday 4 August and continuing until Wednesday 8 August. There are five rounds in total, of which two will determine the placings in the team event. All five rounds will count towards the individual medals.
